What does it mean to be kind? Is it helping a friend with homework? Offering mom or dad the last cookie? How about participating in a local beach cleanup? It’s all of those things, and more! If you think about it, kindness is a combination of caring and sharing. Although acts of kindness happen all the time (remember what happened after those hurricanes and earthquakes?), it’s nice to celebrate kindness and remember how much power a simple kind act can accomplish. On November 13th, the world celebrated World Kindness Day. It’s a day that was established in 1997 by the World Kindness Movement, an organization that works to “inspire individuals towards greater kindness and to connect nations to create a kinder world.” There are twenty-eight member nations, and all of them are working towards a more kinder world. Now, isn’t that nice? How do you celebrate kindness every day?
