Ever stop to think: Can I become President of the United States one day? If your answer is yes (and we don’t see why it shouldn’t be!), what traits and qualifications do you think you’ll need in order to become one of the most powerful leaders in the world? Do you have to be tall? Well-educated? Determined? Believe it or not, there are only three things that you need in order to qualify to run for President of the United States. You have to:
1) Be a natural born citizen of the United States
2) Be at least 35 years old
3) Have lived in the country for at least 14 years
But many presidents possess other qualities too. Check out our video about ordinary people — it may just surprise you and spark some deeper discussions with your classmates about what you need to become a future U.S. President.
