If you live in California and you think that it’s been raining and pouring and the old man has been snoring, you’re right! And if you think, “Gosh, with all this rain, the drought must be over,” you’re also right! The drought that kept most of California (or 86% to be exact) dry for years, is finally turning around. State reservoirs (or natural places like lakes where water is kept and used to supply communities) are full and can provide water to those places in the state that are still experiencing dry conditions. But don’t just take our word for it. Check out this incredible before and after picture of one of California’s reservoirs.
Interesting Fact: Water travels 170 miles to get to the people of San Francisco! Here’s a map of how water travels from the Hetch Hetchy Reservoir to the Bay Area.
