Have you ever folded a paper airplane, played a game of Clue, or thrown a Wiffle Ball in the backyard? If so, you’ve officially played with toys that were recently inducted into the National Toy Hall of Fame!
How did these toys make it into such a prestigious place?
It wasn’t easy! Every year, people nominate toys that they think deserve to be considered. Each toy that is eventually considered must have “inspired creative play and enjoyed popularity over a sustained period.” In other words, it must be a toy that’s been around a while and that allows you to use your imagination. This year, twelve toys made it to the final round. Some of these toys included the Magic 8 Ball, My Little Pony, Transformers, and Uno. All great toys, but it looks like the paper airplane, Clue, and the Wiffle Ball took the honors this year.
Which toys would you nominate next year?
