It was the first time in eighty-six years that a baseball team from Washington, D.C. advanced to the World Series, but the Washington Nationals broke that dry spell when they swept the Arizona Cardinals to win the National League pennant earlier this month. They entered the World Series as the underdog but came out on top. That’s right! After playing seven thrilling games against the heavily favored Houston Astros, the Nationals can now call themselves World Series champions. Congratulations, Nationals!
