The Villanova Wildcats college basketball team won their second national title in three years this week. Donte DiVincenzo scored thirty-one points off the bench (the highest in a national title game), and on top of that, he won the “outstanding player” award. The Wildcats played the Michigan Wolverines, a team that had a lead early on in the game. But as the Wildcats caught on, the Wolverines were no match.
In women’s college basketball, Notre Dame beat Mississippi State with less than one second left! Coach Muffet McGraw called this season the toughest ever for Notre Dame, with multiple injuries leaving few healthy players on the team.
This was definitely a March Madness full of surprises that kept college basketball fans on the edge of their seats. Congratulations to both of the winning teams!
