This week, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s liberal party was re-elected to lead the country. Was it a landslide win like it was four years ago? No. In fact, the months leading up to Election Day were rocky ones for Prime Minister Trudeau, with his past choices potentially hurting his chances of a re-election. Andrew Scheer of the conservative party fought hard, but in the end, the people of Canada cast their votes and decided that Prime Minister Trudeau and his Liberal party should once again lead the country.
In Trudeau’s acceptance speech, he thanked his family and his supporters, but he also addressed those who did not vote for him or his party by saying, “And to those who did not vote for us, know that we will work every single day for you. We will govern for everyone. Regardless of how you cast your ballot, ours is a team that will fight for all Canadians.” Prime Minister Trudeau promised to lead for everyone, to listen to what the people of Canada want, and to move Canada forward so that future generations will have a future to look forward to. Congratulations, Prime Minister Trudeau!
