WHAT HAPPENED: Last fall, Samsung, the company that makes the Galaxy Note 7, had to recall these smartphones because they would catch re. Twice, they tried to provide a solution for what they thought was the problem, but failed both times. Samsung had to o er a refund to all of their Galaxy Note 7 customers and launched an investigation to figure out the exact cause of their exploding phones.
NOW WHAT: It turns out that it was the battery all along. Batteries were overheating because they were either missing essential parts or didn’t have enough of a specific material to keep them from getting too hot, causing them to explode. Samsung is trying to win back the trust of their customers by sharing the eight steps they’ll be taking in order to make sure that every battery in every phone works properly.
