Flint Water Crisis
WHAT HAPPENED: A year ago, the people of Flint, Michigan discovered that they were using and drinking water that had been contaminated with lead. People complained that the water smelled funny and children were getting sick.
NOW WHAT: It’s been over a year and although the city has switched back to the cleaner Detroit water supply, the water in Flint is still unusable and people continue to depend on bottled water for everything from cooking to bathing. The investigation is not over yet, but over a dozen government officials have already been charged over the Flint water crisis.
