Hold onto your hats ice cream lovers, because we’re about to make your day! On July 16th, the United States will be celebrating National Ice Cream Day. No, we’re not kidding—there really is a day just for ice cream!

Here at Xyza, we’re celebrating National Ice Cream Day with five fun facts about one of our favorite cold summer treats!

1) According to the Guiness Book of World Records, the largest scope of ice cream weighed 3,010 pounds and was scooped in Cedarburg, Wisconsin.

2) The number one flavor in the United States is vanilla!

3) The winner for the country that eats the most ice cream in the world goes to … drum roll please … New Zealand!

4) California produces the most ice cream in the United States.

5) Ice cream was introduced to the United States in the 1700s.
