It’s a very exciting time for the British Commonwealth. First the birth of baby boy Sussex, and then an engagement! We can’t take all the excitement! Earlier this week, Jacinda Ardern, the Prime Minister of New Zealand, announced that her partner Clarke Gayford had proposed over Easter weekend. While that’s wonderful news, it also might be historic if she decides to get married while in office—no other female world leader has ever done so! But historic firsts aren’t new to Prime Minister Ardern. In 2017, Ardern made history when she was elected Prime Minister of New Zealand. She was only thirty-seven years old at the time, which made her the youngest and only the third female to ever hold that position. If that wasn’t enough, last year, Prime Minister Ardern made history again when she gave birth to a baby girl while in office. We don’t know about you, but we love that Prime Minister Ardern is making history and showing the world that women can do it and have it all at the same time. Congratulations, Prime Minister Ardern!
