Have you ever watched a Super Bowl? Notice anything about the cheerleaders? Yep, they’re all women! But not for long—for the first time in National Football League history, two men have joined the cheerleading squad of a national football team. Quinton Peron and Napoleon Jinnies were both selected to join the 2018–2019 cheerleading squad for the Los Angeles Rams and will be dancing alongside their female cheerleaders. When Peron was asked why he decided to try out, he simply said, “I thought, Why not me? Why can’t I do this?” Why not, indeed!
Interesting fact: Although both the Baltimore Ravens and the Indianapolis Colts have men on their cheer teams, these men mainly perform stunts with the female cheerleaders rather than dance alongside them in choreographed routines.
