It all started on June 14th. Thirty-two teams arrived in Russia with one goal in mind: win the 2018 World Cup Final. After playing a total of sixty-three games, every team was eliminated except France and Croatia. The world watched with great anticipation as the two teams played their hearts out in front of a packed Luzhniki Stadium in the capital city of Moscow. Was France going to claim its second World Cup victory after twenty years, or was Croatia, the team whose slogan is “Little country, big dreams!” going to surprise the world with a stunning win over their heavily favored opponent? Well, France did claim their second World Cup victory in twenty years with a 4-2 win over Croatia, but like with many championships, a “win” can take many forms, and to some, Croatia won as well. Croatia was indeed the little country that stole the hearts of fans around the world, proving that small can also be mighty. Congratulations to France and Croatia for playing a World Cup Final we won’t soon forget!
