It has certainly been an exciting MLB postseason, but if you’re a fan of the Washington Nationals or the Houston Astros, it’s been an AMAZING one. That’s right, the Nationals and the Astros have won a spot in the 2019 World Series, and fans of both teams couldn’t be more excited. We won’t know who will take home the title of World Series champions just yet, so we’re sharing a few fun facts about each team to get us fired up about the upcoming baseball battle!
-Although the Astros are the American League champions, they used to play in the National League. The Astros spent fifty-one seasons in the National League and then joined the American League in 2013.
-While the Astros are the heavy favorites to win this year’s World Series, they’ve only won the World Series once before in 2017.
-The Astros played their best baseball yet this year and set a franchise record for the most games won in a season, with 107 wins and only 55 losses.
Fun Facts About The Washington Nationals:
-This is the Washington Nationals’ first ever trip to the World Series.
-The Nationals may have been a wild card entering the National League Championship Series, but they came out as champions. Not only did they win their first ever league pennant, but they did it by sweeping the Arizona Cardinals!
-It has been eighty-six years since a team from Washington, D.C. has advanced to the World Series.
