Did you know that Women’s History Month started out as Women’s History Week? It’s true! In 1982, US President Ronald Reagan issued Presidential Proclamation 4903, which declared the week of March 7th as Women’s History Week. This week was used to recognize the achievements and contributions of women throughout US history. Five years later, Women’s History Week became Women’s History Month.
Here at Xyza, we’re inspired by women every day. From powerful political figures (like Michelle Obama and Kamala Harris) to young artists and activists (like Amanda Gorman and Yara Shahidi), from game-changing sports stars (like Serena Williams and Megan Rapinoe) to women whose legacies continue to inspire the young and old alike, we celebrate women every day, but especially during the month of March. Who inspires you? Tell us by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org!
In the meantime, we’re sharing some of our favorite inspirational quotes from some of our favorite women! Enjoy this video and happy Women’s History Month!
