If you’re a fan of football, you’re probably looking forward to Super Bowl LV, happening on February 7th. But if you’re a fan of puppies, you’d better sit down because we’re about to share some REALLY exciting puppy news! For the seventeenth year in a row, adoptable puppies from around the United States will make up teams Ruff and Fluff in the ultimate cuteness overload showdown at Puppy Bowl XVII also happening on—you guessed it—February 7th! A little freaked out because you’re a fan of both football and puppies? Not to worry! The Puppy Bowl airs five hours before the Super Bowl. You’re welcome!
Wondering why the Puppy Bowl even exists? There’s a really good reason! The Puppy Bowl is a unique way of showcasing the work of shelters and rescues from around the country. For the past sixteen years, every puppy (and kitten—yes, they also make appearances at the Puppy Bowl!) is adopted. It’s a way for people to see and learn about the needs of shelters and rescues, as well as to recognize the hard work and love that staff at these organizations pour into caring for these animals every day. From pup-players to pup-cheerleaders (yes, there’ll be pups cheer-howling on the side for their favorite team!), you won’t want to miss this unfurgettable event!
Who’re you rooting for to win: Team Ruff or Team Fluff?
