Yes! This month, animal-lovers had a reason to celebrate: the beloved giant panda was removed from the endangered species list! How did this happen? Well, it’s taken many years and the conservation efforts of countries like China — they banned the trade of panda skins, created a number of panda reserves (homes for pandas only!), rebuilt bamboo forests (the giant panda’s favorite food!), and much more — to help protect and grow the giant panda population. Thanks to their conservation efforts and those of other countries, the giant panda population is looking better. This is good news, but animal experts warn that these efforts have to continue in order for the giant panda to thrive.
