If you visit France today and buy something at a grocery store, you won’t be offered a plastic bag for your purchased item. That’s because back in July, France banned the distribution of plastic bags at the checkout counter of all supermarkets. But since then, they’ve taken an even bigger step towards improving the environment. This week France became the first country to ban the use of disposable plastic tableware, that’s plates, cups, forks, knives, etc. Yes, it’s the law, or shall we say, oui! From now on, all tableware must be made from at least 50% biologically-sourced materials (or materials that can be compostable).
