This week, the Boy Scouts changed their name to Scouts BSA. What’s the big deal, you ask? Well, recently the Boy Scouts opened up their doors to girls! The announcement came after years of requests, creating an easier way for families to enroll all of their kids in the same scouts program. Sound like a great idea? Well, not everyone agrees. The Girls Scouts, for example, fear that the expanded Scouts BSA might lure its own members. Others think that since the Boy Scouts are struggling with declining membership, they’re trying to recruit more members rather than work on improving their program.
Are you a part of a Boy Scouts or Girl Scouts troop? What do you think about the Boy Scouts’ decision to include girls? Is it inclusive, or is it actually hurting the Girl Scouts?
We want to hear from you!
