It looks like the case of the missing ruby red slippers has finally been solved … sort of. One of the most iconic movie memorabilia in the world—the ruby red slippers that actress Judy Garland wore while playing Dorothy in the movie The Wizard of Oz—has been found! Wait … they were missing? Yes, one of the several pairs that were made for the movie went missing thirteen years ago when someone broke into the Judy Garland Museum and stole them. The thieves got away, and the only clue they left behind was a single red sparkly sequin that dropped from the slippers. Well, local police turned the case over to the FBI, and it wasn’t until this week that a clue led them to the whereabouts of the slippers. Although the slippers were recovered in a sting operation (busted!), the made-for-Hollywood mystery still hasn’t been completely solved. After all, who took the slippers and why? The FBI continues to work through the case, but one thing’s for sure: Dorothy’s ruby red slippers are back home again, and there really is no place like home!
