Prince Philip Steps Down

Buckingham Palace officially announced that, ‘His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh has decided that he will no longer carry out public engagements from the autumn of this year.’ What does that mean exactly? Simply put, Prince Philip will be officially retired at the young age of 96!

He’s stood by Queen Elizabeth II’s side for 65 years as husband of the queen of Britain and loyally carried out his royal duties. Prince Philip has talked about stepping down from his public life since he turned 90, but it’s taken him close to six years to finally make the move. Happy retirement, Prince Philip!
