San Francisco hotels are creating quite the buzz with their rooftop beehives. Wait, did you say bees at a hotel? Yes! It’s not a new concept, but hotels are starting to catch onto the idea of rooftop beehives because they can do a lot of good. How? Well, hotels can use the delicious honey that honey bees produce to feed their guests and use in their spas. But more importantly, beehives help grow the honey bee population. Why do we want more honey bees, you might ask? Well, honey bees help pollinate flowers and plants, which
in turn produce things like fruits and vegetables for us to eat. Since bee experts have noticed a steady decline in the honey bee population, breeding more bees is a very good thing.
