The United States House of Representatives impeached US President Donald Trump this week, charging him with “high crimes and misdemeanors” and making him the third president in US history to face possible removal from office. What happens next? First, Nancy Pelosi, the speaker of the House of Representatives, will send over the articles, or details, of the impeachment to the Senate. The Senate will then hold a trial to decide whether to convict President Trump and remove him from office.
