Tigers may be growing in numbers

Good news, tiger lovers! There are now more tigers living in the world than there were in 2010. But wait, how do we know that? Do we actually count every tiger in the world? Why, yes! Counting tigers isn’t as easy as counting people, but it can be done. Historically, counting was done by tracking down ambushes or collecting paw prints. But now tiger conservationists also use heat and motion detection cameras to count tigers. So even though the tiger population is up, it might be because there are better counting methods. Either way, conservationists are happy and believe that better tracking equipment and their continued efforts will improve the lives of tigers around the world.
